Description

Fostering Connections is seeking business professionals that enjoy mentoring and working with foster and at-risk youth to serve as Career Readiness Academy program volunteers. Volunteers assist students as they work through the program activities and provide support with facilitating activities. A curriculum and supplies are provided for all volunteers.

Volunteer Roles: 

Course Guide (9 hours):

-Work one on one with a Career Readiness Academy student, assisting them with assignments and activities during the courses.

-Help provide a safe, fun learning environment for students. 

-Course guides should attend each of the three sessions in April 2025, which are held on Saturdays from 9-12.

 

Activity Facilitator (1 hour): 

-Facilitate mock job interviews with students.

-Other activities as assigned by the program facilitator.

-Activity facilitators attend the day of the scheduled activity. Opportunities are in Duval between June 2 - June 6, St. Johns between June 16 - June 20, Putnam between June 23 - June 27 and Volusia between July 7 - July 11. 

 

Volunteer Position Requirements: 

-Be a business professional, manager, or small business owner.

-Have experience mentoring at-risk youth.

-Pass a background screening.
