The President is a key management leader of Veteran Garden Project of St. Augustine Fl. Inc. 501 (3)(c) or VGP. The President shall preform such executive, supervisory, and management functions and duties as may be assigned by the Board as well as those listed below in detail. The President shall be an officer with voting rights in all matters and subject to the direction of the Board of Directors.
Seeking veteran or nonveteran for this position
1) Board Governance:
- Responsible for leading VGP in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
- Helps with board development, suggesting, recruiting and training volunteer board members.
- Chair Board meetings and help set future meetings.
2) Financial Performance and Viability:
- Work within the board to ensure fiscal integrity of VGP to include collaborating on the annual budget.
- Fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support VGP’s mission.
- Reviews each financial report the organization’s treasurer presents at board meetings.
- Develops with the support of the Board and CEO, a fundraising plan with annual and three-year goals that are agreed to by all members.
- Ensure proper stewardship of the organization’s funds.
3) Organization Mission and Strategy:
- Implementation of VGP’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission now and in the future.
- Enhancement of VGP’s image by being active and visible in the community by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
4) Organization Operations:
- Responsible for effective administration of VGP operations.
- Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
- Direct supervisor of the other Board member positions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Professional Qualifications:
- Previous non-profit supporting roles including, but not limited to President.
- Highly organized
Must be willing to accept at least a 2 year term.
