It’s officially scholarship season at MWYF, and we need your help reading and scoring student essays! MWYF students can apply for scholarships beginning in 5th grade through 12th grade. Last year, we awarded $125,000 in scholarships to more than 70 students, and this year we hope to give even more—with your support.
Volunteers will be assigned 15–20 essays from a specific grade level or group (for example, all 9th graders or 6th grade girls). Using a provided rubric and scoring sheet, you’ll read and score each essay, then submit your scores for final calculations. This is a meaningful and rewarding opportunity to get to know our students and learn about their goals, hopes, and dreams.
