Volunteer: Build Support for Affordable Housing with Your Marketing Experience

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity of St. Johns County (Habitat St. Johns) brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Volunteers with Sales & Marketing and/or fundraising experience are needed to help grow and retain Habitat St. Johns' donor base. Examples include helping Habitat St. Johns locate business sponsors, reaching out to lapsed sponsors, and thanking existing and new donors.

For example, there are various ways that local/Florida-based businesses can help Habitat St. Johns through their taxes, enjoy teambuilding opportunities and, at the same time, get tax credits back from the State of Florida. We want to leverage these opportunities and locate companies that would like to make a difference through affordable housing.

You could help:

- develop a marketing strategy

- build awareness throughout St. Johns County

- increase donor and volunteer engagement

- create a stronger connection with local media outlets

- gather and write stories about current and prospective Habitat homeowners

- locate new business sponsors

- reconnect with lapsed donors

and more!

Individuals may volunteer any time 9 - 5 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Hours are flexible. Call to learn more: 904-826-3252 ext. 2001

Volunteer: Mentor a First-Time Homeowner

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Join our Homeowner Support Committee and mentor a future homeowner from the time they are accepted into the program until about 6 months after closing. If you own your own home, you probably already know everything you need to be a great mentor! We supply papers on topics like how to research and secure homeowners insurance, how to apply for a homestead exemption, how to budget for likely home repairs, why you should consider having a will once you own property, and basic home maintenance. Mentors and mentees meet at their convenience in person or via phone or virtual platform. The committee meets once a month for one hour via Zoom to give updates and discuss issues that may be of interest to everyone. This is a small commitment of time with a big impact! Come help us set our future homeowners up for success!!
