Opportunities From: Care Connect Volunteers

A volunteer Office Assistant is needed on Mondays from 9am to noon at 180 Marine Street in downtown St. Augustine. Individual must be comfortable answering phones as well as interacting with clients in person. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel/Google sheets is helpful. May need to lift heavy objects such as pet food but this is not essential.

Our Memory Center at ABC is in need of volunteers on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tuesday is from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Wednesday is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Volunteer simple art project leader needed (about a 3rd grade level, but geared for adults with special needs) in our Adult Day Program on Mondays from 1:15 to 2:15. We have a large inventory of supplies to be used.

Volunteer needed at our Sunshine Center in Downtown St. Augustine. Duties include assisting staff with activities, serving lunches, cleaning up, and assisting a legally blind person with feeding and some activity interactions. This opportunity is available on Mondays & Fridays 11am-4pm. This is a great way to show dignity and respect to our seniors.

We are looking for Volunteers to help with building wheelchair ramps this Fall.  If you would like to assist in this worthwhile endeavor, you are encouraged to contact COA to find out more.

Our Care Connection program is looking for interested volunteers to assist in basic lawn care and maintenance for local seniors on Thursdays 8am-12pm. This kind of service helps our seniors remain in their own homes where they are most comfortable, rather than being compelled to enter assisted living for lack of assistance.

We are looking for a Volunteer to help our Deaf Participants at the River House and also occasionally at the Coastal Community Center.  Help is needed mostly in the mornings but could be some afternoons as well.  We believe that 2 – 3 times per month for 1-2 hours is what our current need is.  If you have time, you can put your very special skills to work and help others who need your assistance.
