Who We Are

Mission: To support and advocate for quality library services for all individuals of St. Johns County.

The Library has a Friends of the Library organization for each branch and the bookmobiles:

  • Anastasia Island Branch
  • Bartram Trail Branch
  • Hastings Branch
  • Main Branch
  • Ponte Vedra Beach Branch.
  • Southeast Branch
  • Bookmobile

Through membership, fundraising, advocacy and volunteerism, we support the public library to benefit the children and adults who use it. Friends groups are volunteer, nonprofit support organizations helping their library to grow and thrive. Join the Friends and help your public library. All donations to the Friends of the Library are tax deductible.

What We Do

  • Foster closer relations among the library system and the larger community of St. Johns County highlighting the
    importance of their role in supporting the library system
  • Sponsor programs for children, teens, and adults designed to add to the cultural life of the community
  • Promote knowledge of the functions, resources, services, and needs of the library
  • Assist in the development and improvement of library services and resources
  • Encourage gifts or memorials of funds, books, art objects, and other appropriate items to the library
  • Sponsor fundraising activities to support the goals of the library
  • Support the Library Director’s financial requests for items outside the budget
  • Manage and promote the book sales, bookrack, book auctions and silent auction basket sales
